MUSIC DEPARTMENT
Private Lessons
(starting 3 yrs)
Private lessons allow students to improve their individual technique, musicality, and to pursue their own individual musical interests. Teachers customize an appropriate curriculum for each individual student to help them accomplish their musical goals. Students will be considered for private lessons if they are mature, able to follow directions, and are ready to follow the practicing commitments set by their teacher. Practicing is crucial to improving and advancing. Lessons meet for 30/45/60-min once a week, and may participate in School Recitals. Only one student per lesson.
Music Ensembles
(starting 10 yrs)
Get your friends together to make a band, or have our teachers help you set up a small group to play in. Playing in a group is different than playing solo. You learn to listen, communicate, work as a team, feel and play to the beat with other players, tune and blend your instruments, learn how to rehearse (different from practicing), and develop other skills necessary for playing well with others. Students must have at least 3 years of playing experience. Ensembles meet for 90-min once a week. 4-8 students per Ensemble.
Group Music Classes
(starting 3 yrs)
Group Music Classes are a great way to start learning about music, and how to play an instrument. In this comfortable, low-pressure group setting, students will enjoy learning about musical concepts, rhythm, vocabulary, symbols, to read and interpret music, and how to play musical instruments together with friends! Teachers introduce the fundamentals of music and the performance techniques needed to play an instrument in an age-appropriate, encouraging class environment. Group Music Classes meet for 45/60-min once a week, and may participate in School Recitals. 3-6 students per class.
